Hi Mike good read, it must said how true it is when personal protective equipment is damaged it is as good as useless can be. I worked in the car trade for many years and I found that most of all hand protection, knee protection and decent clothes to keep you dry are the main things to consider. In the winter the chemicals you use to clean cars often crack the skin on your knuckles and they end up bleeding, it's very painful and takes a long time to heal in cold conditions. Your knees also can be rather susceptible to the cold and once there gone you're not much good for anything. PPE is vastly important, many younger workers do not see how important it is until it's to late.

Check for debris or other loose objects under the drivers seat that may roll out and become lodged in the pedals.

I am aware of two insurance claims that were paid due to water bottles lodging behind the brake pedal.

Those were great tips Mike and here's another. "ANY TIME" an employee is about to move a vehicle at our wash, he or she is "REQUIRED" to blow the horn. This is even if the area in front of the vehicle "appears" clear.

Additionally, we DO NOT allow employees to "back up" vehicles.
